ABSTRACT

Naringin is mainly present in Rutaceae Citrus Pomelo, grapefruit, lime, and its variants of the peel and fruit, which belongs to dihydrogen flavonoids.Studies have shown that naringin has anti-type 1 and type 2 diabetes pharmacological effects, the mechanism of action by inhibiting diabetes-related oxidative stress injury, inflammation, abnormal metabolism of glucose, and other aspects, while a certain degree of delay in diabetes complications (including diabetic cardiomyopathy, diabetic nephropathy, diabetic retinopathy, and diabetic neuropathy). The mechanism of naringin on the mechanism of diabetes mellitus and its complications was studied in order to provide the basis for the development of antidiabetic drug.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND:Studies have shown that Schwann cells form a Bunger band in the basement tube and guide the extension of regenerating axons after peripheral nerve injury, but the exact mechanism remains to be explored. OBJECTIVE:To explore the effect of Wal erian degeneration on biological characteristics and secretory function of Schwann cells in rats with sciatic nerve injury. METHODS:A rat model of sciatic nerve injury was established and divided into two groups:sciatic nerve transection group and surgical control group. Schwann cells were isolated and cultured from sciatic nerve segments by one enzyme digestion. The cellmorphology was observed under light microscope and S-100 protein expression was determined by immunofluorescence staining. After subculture, the first generation of Schwann cells were chosen to draw the growth curve by the counting method within 14 days. The cellactivity was detected by MTT assay. The adhesion of Schwann cells was examined by acid phosphatase analysis and the concentration of nerve growth factor was detected by ELISA method. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 14 days after primary culture, a great number of Schwann cells were observed near the edges of nerve segments in the sciatic nerve transection group, but only smal number of Schwann cells scattered around nerve segments in the control group. Schwann cells in both groups showed S-100 positive expression. At 3 days after subculture, Schwann cells reached the logarithm proliferative phase, the cellnumber and proliferation absorbance values in both groups were increased along with time extension. Furthermore, the number of Schwann cells and absorbance value in the sciatic nerve transection group were significantly higher than those of control group (P<0.05). The adhesion ability in the sciatic nerve transection group was also significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). ELISA results showed that, the concentrations of nerve growth factor in the sciatic nerve transection group were significantly higher than those in the control group at 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 days (P<0.05). After sciatic nerve injury, Wal erian degeneration can induce Schwann cells dedifferentiate into the precursors, significantly influence the biological function of Schwann cells, promote the proliferation of Schwann cells within the short term, secrete large amounts of neurotrophic factors, enhance celladhesion, and provide a suitable microenvironment for regenerated axons. In addition, it creates the necessary microenvironment for peripheral nerve regeneration.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the effect of Kecrkang oral Liquid on extracorporeal bacteriostasis. Methods Tube dilution method was adopted to test the effect of different concentrations of Keerkang oral liquid on bacillus coli, klebsiella pneumoniae, bacillus aeruginosus, staphylococcus aureus, staphylococcus epidermidis, β-Streptococcus hemolyticus, streptococcus pneumoniae, haemophilus influenzae and candida albicans. Results Keerkang Oral Liquid has obvious inhibited effects to all the bacteria that mentioned above. Conclusion Keerkang Oral Liquid has obvious extracorporeal bacteriostasis and resistance to fungi.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the inhibitive effect of Keerkang Oral Liquid on adenovirus (ADV3) , parainfluenza virus (HVJ) , respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) , and herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) , herpes simplex virus 2 ( HSV-2 ) in cell culture. Methods Sensitive cell culture was adopted, and chick embryo kidney (CEK) cells and bit hamster kidney (BHK) cells were used to infect homologous virus. Keerkang Oral Liquid was given after 2 hours, then cytopathie phenomenon (CPE) was observed. Results When the amounts of infected virus are less than or equal to 100TCID50, the group which was given Keerkang Oral Liquid showed CPE, while the virus control group showed 25%~75% CPE. Besideds Keerkang Oral Liquid showed inhibitive effect on maximum non-venom concentration (TD0) , medium effective concentration (IC50), minimum valid concentration (MTC) and therapeutic index (TI) ofADV3, HVJ, RSV, BSV-1, and HSV-2 by 0.5, 0.25, 0A25-0.0625 ml/ml and 4.8 respectively. Conclusion Keerkang Oral Liquid has obvious inhibitive effects on ADV3, HVJ,RSV and HSV-1, HSV-2 in cell culture, which provides experimental basis for treating ADV3, HVJ, RSV and HSV-1, and HSV-2.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the efficiency enhancement and toxicity reduction effects of scutellaria barbata polysaccharides(SBPS) on mice treated with cytoxan(CTX).Methods Transplanted H22 hepatoma mice were randomly divided into negative control group,CTX group and combined SBPS and CTX group. After 10 d of consecutive drug administration, the tumor inhibitory rate, blood white cell count, phagocytic index and activity of IL-2 were measured. Results SBPS increased the tumor inhibitory rate and reduced the toxicity of cytoxan, and enhanced the function of mononuclear phagocytes and the activity of IL-2 and TNF-?.Conclusions SBPS has efficiency enhancement and toxicity reduction effects on cytoxan, and the mechanism may be by increasing the immunologic function of the organism.
